LSE alumni and students feature on Forbes 30 under 30

Congratulations to the five LSE alumni and students who have been recognised in this year's Forbes 30 under 30 Europe list.
Our innovative young minds are helping to shape the world through their work in the fields of manufacturing and industry, media and marketing, retail and e-commerce, and social impact.
Our alumni and students featured on the 2025 list include:

Marco Bertone
(BSc Economics 2018)
Manufacturing and Industry
While leading growth at a French premium marketplace, Marco noticed the impact the fashion industry was having on sustainability. That led him to co-found Syntetica in 2023 to turn synthetic textile waste into 100% recycled nylon. The startup has raised $4.5 million in funding and secured $500,000 in brand contracts.
I’m very happy to see the work we are doing at Syntetica recognised by Forbes, as we advance on our mission to make textiles circular, starting with nylon.
Phoebe Cleary Rudd
(BSc Social Policy and Government 2018)
Media and Marketing
Phoebe co-founded the digital magazine The Sauce in 2022. With 600,000 monthly readers and 85,000 subscribers, the hospitality magazine shares the best spots and reviews. Most recently, she expanded to Club Sauce, an influencer marketing platform.
Piers Millar
(BSc Philosophy student)
Manufacturing and Industry
Piers co-founded the robotics and AI startup Kaikaku to scale the next generation of restaurants where repetitive tasks are automated so humans can focus on the hospitality part. Kaikaku is expected to generate over $1 million in annual revenue within a year.
Eight years ago, my school was featured in The Guardian as one of the worst funded in the country. Three years ago, I was working at McDonald's. If it wasn’t for LSE, there's no way the right doors would have opened to get me here. I’m forever grateful for my time at the School.
Daniel Parekh-Hill
(BSc Economics 2018)
Retail and E-commerce
Daniel co-founded Flare, a delivery date platform transforming how e-commerce brands manage sales, customer expectations and logistics. Since launching on Shopify in 2024, Flare has rapidly scaled to serve over 600 brands globally, including major food and beverage and home furnishing companies such as Clearwater Seafoods, The Fat Butcher, Plenish Drinks (part of Britvic plc), EXALT and Time4sleep. The platform addresses a critical pain point in e-commerce beyond Amazon's own delivery infrastructure by enabling customers to select their preferred delivery dates, reducing customer service enquiries and increasing sales.
Our thanks to Daniel for signing the LSE Entrepreneurs’ Pledge. This is a brand-new giving opportunity, inviting our growing community of entrepreneurs and innovators to pledge their support to the School today – but only make the donation when they are in a position to do so.
Simón Torras
(MSc Philosophy 2021)
Social Impact
Simón co-founded Ponterra to deliver both carbon credits and tangible social benefits. The startup launched its first project in 2024 to restore over 10,000 hectares of degraded agricultural land in Panama. In that project alone, they will plant more than 6 million trees and have sequestered over 3.2 million tonnes of CO2.
This is a shared win for my whole team and a unique way to amplify our message.
